You Need to Chill
Notes from the Lab:
When your nervous system is consistently turned up, whether by your environment, work, life, or following your passions despite the chaos, it can begin to stay there unnoticed. Thoughts become unsourced anxiety, options become obstacles, wiring becomes frayed and the system meant to keep everything in flow begins to short circuit and shut down. We’ve been there and we’ve put ourselves there through necessity and devotion. Building something isn’t easy. It takes time and dedication that borders obsession. The push and long hours are often a necessary part of the process and it’s easy to forget that self care begins with self maintenance.
You Need to Chill was created with this in mind. It wasn’t originally blended for the shelf or for service, but because we needed something to break the long hours and remind us to sit, be still, and settle a nervous system that has become accustomed to running at eleven.
All nervines, the herbs were chosen with this goal in mind. Tulsi Krishna to clear mental fog and uplift stagnant moods, Lemon Balm to reduce nervous tension and restlessness, Passion Flower to settle the looping thoughts and insomnia without being drowsy, Skullcap to balance out overstimulation, Milky Oat Tops to restore a depleted nervous system, and Chamomile to pull it all together in a way that feels comforting and invites you in.
This invitation offers calming support with the request of something simple in return. Stillness. Just for a moment. Take the time to recalibrate however that looks for you. It has looked different for all of us, but the shared benefit we've noticed with this blend is that it serves as a comforting reminder to reset and allow it to do its work behind the scenes so we can get back to ours.
As the name says, “you need to chill”, with the most important part being YOU. You decide where and how your reset takes place, but the reminder is always helpful. So, take a break, remember that clarity comes through moments of stillness and allowing the muddied water to settle. Sit with your thoughts, or without any.
Some of our best ideas have come to us while enjoying this tea, trying to have no thoughts at all.
